1956 Chevy Belair-1Jeff has been a fan of classic cars since he was 5 years old.  He credits his parents for their love of classic cars along with all those great flicks like “American Graffiti” and “Two Lane Black Top” for his great appreciation for classic cars. Jeff first learned about Cool Rides Online while doing an internet search on Trifive’s.

Jeff’s first car was a 1956 Chevy Belair 2-door HT.  “Although I’ve always been a Chevy guy, my wife and her 1960 Chrysler joined the family in 1998”.  His 14 year old son inherited the love for classic cars; Jeff mentions he has the same love for classic cars as he did.  It’s no surprise that for his first car Jeff’s son chose a 1956 Chevy, which is currently under construction.

Jeff’s car is special not only because he has owned for so many years, but more importantly because he and his father built it. The car was torn down seven years ago and Jeff restored it with his son, creating a more sentimental value to this car. “My father-in-law gave it the blue/white paint job this time around.   A lot has been learned by restoring it as a family.  Many memories have been made both, in the shop as well as on the road and at numerous shows”.
“My plan for the 1956 is to enjoy it.  I plan to cruise to and attend lots of shows with my family.  Our son loves car shows and soaks up the vintage vibe car shows and cruise ins offer.  Our daughter is less enthused, but seems to enjoy the time spent with family.  My wife and I met at a classic car show, so attending them as a family is always fun for us”

“The most difficult modification on my ’56 Belair was successfully completing the frame-off restoration.  It was a long process, but with the help and input of many Trifivers online, we pushed through and I’m happy with the finished product.  It was a labor of love”.  It is a great looking ride.

Jeff’s dream car is a 1956 Chevy Nomad, “In my opinion it has to be the best vehicle designed”.  He is not alone his son also agrees with him, which is why Jeff mentions that this might be his sons next project.
Jeff has some great advice which many fathers may have as well. “Have your son keep it clean.  It’s a good learning experience for him.  He’s now telling me I’ll have to clean my own once he drives his ’56 to shows.  I’m thinking we’ll be in the same class the majority of the time, so he can stroll on over to mine when he finishes up with his”.

“Owning a classic car and enjoying it with my family has greatly enhanced my life.  There’s something special about piling in my ’56 and going for a drive.  It’s a feeling that’s difficult to explain.  You can cruise into a car show and spend time with numerous strangers along with friends and family, and all have a common bond the immense appreciation and understanding of American Classics.  It’s something I feel very blessed to have”.
