STA-BIL is promoting its new 360º Protection Ethanol Fuel Treatment and Stabilizer with a special sweepstakes. The new product employs a special vapor coating to protect internal engine parts from the corrosive effects of ethanol. To publicize the launch of this revolutionary new formulation, STA-BIL has partnered with the stars of the hit TV show Car Fix to arrange for a full restoration and modification of a classic muscle car, a 1971 Camaro. Ultimately, the vehicle will be awarded to the winner of the sweepstakes in Las Vegas in November.

STA-BIL initiated the launch of its new product in Scottsdale, Ariz., at the 43rd Annual Barrett-Jackson Auction earlier in the year. The stars of Velocity’s Car Fix, Lou Santiago and Jared Zimmerman, transformed a green 1971 Camaro, which was found in Tampa, Fla., into a pristine, fully restored and customized muscle car.

After extensive work to the drivetrain, body, interior and lighting was completed, the vehicle got a new golden yellow coat of paint applied by expert painter Rich Milton. Milton has been involved in projects like Joe Rogan’s 1970 Barracuda and Manny Ramirez’s 1967 Lincoln convertible. A 1936 Ford dubbed “First Love” brought Milton the coveted Rider Award in 2007. Rich Milton is the owner of his own shop, Milton Paint Werks.

The overall project was completed in less than five months, but Zimmerman estimates that it took more than 12 hours per day for 147 days to complete the restoration. That’s 147 consecutive days with no days off. The highly modified street machine is clearly still a Camaro. The window openings and roofline remain as they were originally. The distinctive center open grille has also been left intact.

Sweepstakes entries will be accepted until 11:50 p.m. EDT on August 31, 2014. The lucky winner of the superbly transformed 1971 Camaro will be announced live during an extended two-hour episode of Car Fix on Friday, October 10, 2014. The winner and one other person will get a paid trip to Las Vegas to be awarded the Camaro. The presentation will occur at SEMA 2014 in November. The lucky recipient will be leaving Las Vegas with one cool ride.
