My falcon is 1 of only 2806 built in 1965, and was “born” in Lorain. Ohio on the 20th of April, 1964, it was shipped and sold in Phoenix Arizona. The Sprint has been an Arizona car it’s entire life, and I am the third owner. When I decided to purchase and restore the car, I was still an active school teacher, and on a fairly tight budget. I would re-chrome, re-paint, etc. a little at a time, and the “nut and bolt” restoration took about 17 years. I continued to drive my falcon for much of that time until I began the full “breakdown” process, such as seats, glass and engine. I re-bored the engine to a 302 cu. in and upgraded with a fairly descent cam and roller rockers. I also replaced the 4-barrell carb with an Edelbrock duel quad set-up, that is cranking out about 375 hp. and it is tempting to jump on the 4-speed a little hard at times. The actual miles of the car at restoration was 82,276, with the restoration completed on the 22nd. of May 2015. I feel the car captures the best of two worlds, beauty and power and is a driver, mostly to numerous car shows where I have collected 29 trophies to date, here in Arizona and New Mexico.
