I have owned my 1978 Dodge B100 van since 1980. I have chosen to build her and base her around a nautical theme. The interior is built with reclaimed wood to take on the interior of a ship. With the help of my wife we have achieved that. The cockpit area has sand covering the dash, trim and engine cover. The engine is the original 318 that was changed over to a 4bbl intake and carb. Hedman headers and Borla exhaust make her purr. The exterior paint is medium teal metallic on which there pin-striping and lettering of the vans name Nautique on the hood. There are murals of ships captains and ships wheels on both sides of the van which were painted by Gavek’s Graphics Center Hall, PA. We dedicated the van in honor of my parents Capt. Phil and First Mate Bessie Martin. He was a charter boat captain and my mother was his first mate on the boat and in life. The last thing I said to both of my parents before they passed was Sail On and Fair Seas. This is part of the dedication sign as well. They also travel with us in the van as well.
We have traveled the country with her to attend many of the Van National events throughout the years. She has won Best Theme 7 times throughout the years with the display we set up at the Nationals event. This year she had a video made of her and uploaded to youtube. I hope you enjoy our van and can see her pulling up to a dock near you.
